“We cannot trust the remarks of the US officials on interaction (with Iran),” Head of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi noted.
The senior Iranian lawmaker also blasted US officials for making contradictory remarks about the resumption of talks with Tehran, saying Washington’s carrot-and-stick approach toward Iran has proven inefficient.
“The US carrot-and-stick policy on Iran has no value at all,” Boroujerdi said on Monday.
He added that Washington’s dark record before and after Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979 proved that its policies are based on enmity towards the Islamic Republic.
